The marketplace example is intentionally cautionary. Its title identifies 32 batteries, which would make $26.99 approximately $0.84 per cell, but other fields say “1 Count,” show an inconsistent unit price, and identify a manufacturer differently from the brand. Use this formula for a more meaningful comparison:

Delivered cost per cell = final checkout total ÷ verified number of batteries

The checkout total should include shipping, tax, and required fees, minus any discount that actually applies. Also account for minimum-order requirements and free-shipping thresholds. A listing at $0.26 per cell may cost more overall than one at $0.32 if the first order carries a substantial delivery charge.
